One of the greatest advantages of the Isle of Wight is that it is an Island (no kidding!). No matter which way the wind blows there is always a beach with cross to cross-onshore winds.
The prevailing wind is a South-Westerly which blows in off the English Channel, funnels down through the centre of the Island and accelerates out of the entrance to Bembridge Harbour, sometimes making for some epic conditions. Silver Beach works in almost all wind directions and, during the summer months, tends to pick up a gentle sea breeze through the afternoon on most days.
Our instructors will update the local conditions every few days, be sure to check back here before heading to the coast.
