THE COURSES – 8 WEEK ‘ZERO TO HERO’ (COMBINED MODULES)

The most comprehensive course of its kind, this course is an amalgamation of Modules 1 to 3 and is aimed at anyone interested in a career in the kitesurfing industry. Starting with an induction weekend in the UK you will fly out to Kenya for 6 weeks of intensive kitesurf training to prepare you for your British Kitesurfing Association Kitesurf Instructor Training Course.

Run over 8 weeks in Kenya and the UK you will cover the following:

  • Basic kite flying practice
  • Understanding of equipment
  • Equipment setting up
  • Launching and landing kites
  • Controlling the kite
  • Body-dragging
  • Flying a kite in a harness
  • Water-starting
  • Riding down-wind, across the wind and upwind
  • Turning around
  • Your first jumps
  • Gybing
  • Jumping
  • Back loops and front loops
  • Introduction to Kitesurfing Instruction including shadow teaching

On successful completion of this part of the course you will spend 2 weeks in the UK covering the following:

  • Royal Yachting Association First Aid Course
  • Royal Yachting Association VHF Radio Course
  • Royal Yachting Association Powerboat Level 2 Course
  • British Kitesurfing Association Instructor Training Course

At the end of this time we hope you will have passed your Instructor Training Course and will be ready to start teaching.
