Africa's Premier Kite Surfing Training Centre |
CHANGE LOCATION TO: Silver Beach , UK |
Please note the 2010 winter course will commence on the 25th January.
Working in the watersports industry can be a rewarding experience. Whether you are looking for something to do in your Gap Year, a break from the rat race or an interesting and challenging career, teaching watersports provides this. Of all the sports out there kitesurfing is one of the most rewarding both to participate in and to teach. Add to this the ability to teach wakeboarding and waterskiing and you will have a highly appealing set of skills to offer to potential employers.
At X-Isle we have several instructor programmes from 6 to 9 weeks to take you from zero ability to instructor level. You will leave the course with a set of qualifications which will enable you to find work at kitesurfing centres all over the world. The course is run at our UK training centre, and also in Che Shale, Kenya, our tropical kitesurfing location.
You usually start out on the Isle of Wight with an introductory weekend where we will teach you to wakeboard to start to develop your board riding skills – this will also go towards your training as a Wakeboard instructor. Following this you will fly out to our boutique eco kitesurfing hideaway - Che Shale in Kenya for 6 weeks of intensive training in all aspects of kitesurfing. Whilst you are there you will get the opportunity to see a fully operational kitesurfing centre in action, work alongside kitesurfing instructors and see at first hand what your time as a kitesurfing instructor will be like. Life won’t all be about work as there will be time to explore the diversity of Kenya with excursions such as safaris planned. Whilst learning to kitesurf we will also hone your skills as a wakeboarder.
On your return to the UK you will enter 2 weeks of instructor training which should culminate in your attaining your instructor certificates. This phase covers not just teaching kitesurfing, wakeboarding and waterskiing, but also safety boat driving, first aid and other aspects of centre management which are key to your success as an instructor.
With any luck you will have passed and can now take advantage of our after-course careers service. Through strong links with other kitesurfing centres around the world we will actively look for instructor positions for you to fill.

Feedback from our latest customer:
"We had a wonderful time in Che-Shale, SUPER.
Justin (owner of Che-Shale), Isabelle and their entire crew are doing an excellent job, everything was well arranged and the food was delicious, one of the most beautiful places on earth.
Also Kean, one of your instructors did an excellent job, even he had some more work with me, compared to my son, who could ride the kite at the end of the week.
The way Justin is managing this place is amazing, so friendly, relaxed, we felt yourself immediately at home.
I will recommend this place to all friends and family....Justin, be ready !"
